Abit iDome repair

My Abit iDome speakers developed an odd ailment. All the front panel buttons and LEDs stopped working bar the power button. The problem occurred randomly while playing music and showed no sign of fixing itself. I had a suspicion that a ribbon cable to the front panel had come loose. I thought my idea was a bit simplistic but I was proved to be right. Opening the speaker was fairly difficult. The front plastic is held on by a row of plastic clips on either side. I tried to remove the panel without damaging the clips but I couldn't manage it, so I snapped off the clips.

Dropping the front panel down I found the ribbon cable I had expected facing me. I pushed the cable into it's seating a little, powered up the speakers and voila; front panel working perfectly. Even without the clips the front plastic seats itself into place adequately. I'm very glad I have these great speakers back up and running.
